I love flowers.
I know it’s a cliché to say it but I do; they constantly provide me with new ideas and designs, and as the seasons change so my handwriting encompasses the new colours, patterns, textiles and layouts.
My style is natural, expressive and loose, predominantly in watercolours but also with acrylics and other materials which I add according to the needs of the design at hand. I try not to overwork the original concept, and never add for the sake of adding content.
Since I set up as an independent artist and freelance designer I have been lucky enough to let myself be guided by these trends set in nature, working from my home studio in Dorset and selling through Alistair Boyd in Sussex, globally and to a wide range of clients at all levels.
But as well as the work I generate I have and still do regularly work to a brief for clients, often as part of a collection and so with the overriding style of the collection’s at heart, and love the particular thrill of being able to realise someone else’s vision, or even to provide them with one they hadn’t conceived.
